حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّث
َنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ بَعْدَ أَنْ رَجَعْنَا إِنَّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ لَأَقْوَامًا مَا سِرْتُمْ مَسِيرًا وَلَا هَبَطْتُمْ وَادِيًا إِلَّا وَهُمْ مَعَكُمْ حَبَسَهُمْ الْمَرَضُ

English Translation
Hasan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say during the expedition of Tabuk, after we had returned: 'Indeed in Madinah there are people — you did not travel any distance or cross any valley except that they were with you [in reward].' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, while they are in Madinah?' He said: 'While they are in Madinah — they were held back by a valid excuse.'
