English Translation

Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Hashimi narrated to us, Isma'il — meaning Ibn Ja'far — narrated to us, Dawud ibn Bakr ibn Abi al-Furat informed me, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Smiling in the face of your brother is charity. Commanding good and forbidding evil is charity. Guiding a man who is lost is charity. Removing a stone, thorn, or bone from the road is charity. Pouring from your bucket into your brother's bucket is charity.'
