English Translation

Musa narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ — that a man came to him asking for food. He fed him half a wasq of barley. The man and his wife kept eating from it for a long time, until he measured what remained. When the Prophet ﷺ was told about this, he said: 'Had you not measured it, you would have continued to eat from it, and it would have remained for you.'
