Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ أَنَا فَرَطُكُمْ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُونِي فَأَنَا عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَالْحَوْضُ قَدْرُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْلَةَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ وَسَيَأْتِي رِجَالٌ وَنِسَاءٌ فَلَا يَذُوقُونَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا مَوْقُوفٌ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ
English Translation
Rawh narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) — and he did not attribute it to the Prophet ﷺ — saying: 'I am your advance-guard ahead of you. If you do not find me, then I am at the Hawrd (the Pond), and the Pond is as vast as the distance between Aylah and Sana'a in Yemen, and there are pitchers in it as numerous as the stars.'
