Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ أَبِ
ي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَغْلِقُوا الْأَبْوَابَ وَأَوْكِئُوا الْأَسْقِيَةَ وَخَمِّرُوا الْإِنَاءَ وَأَطْفِئُوا السُّرُجَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَفْتَحُ غُلُقًا وَلَا يَحُلُّ وِكَاءً وَلَا يَكْشِفُ إِنَاءً فَإِنَّ الْفُوَيْسِقَةَ تُضْرِمُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ

English Translation
Hasan narrated to us, Zuhayr narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Close the doors, tie the mouths of the water-skins, cover the vessels, and extinguish the lamps, for Shaytan does not untie a water-skin, nor open a door, nor uncover a vessel. If one of you cannot find anything to cover his vessel except a stick to lay across it, and to mention the name of Allah, then let him do so. For indeed the little mouse may set a house ablaze over its inhabitants.'
