English Translation
Hasan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us, who said: I asked Jabir about a man who divorces his wife while she is menstruating. He said: 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar divorced his wife while she was menstruating, so 'Umar came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned that to him. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Let him take her back and hold her until she becomes pure, then menstruates, then becomes pure again. Then if he wishes, he may keep her, and if he wishes, he may divorce her before having intercourse with her. That is the 'iddah that Allah has commanded for the divorce of women."'
