حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَمَرَنَا رَسُول

English Translation
Hasan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr informed us, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to fast the day of Ashura and said: 'It is a day the Jews used to fast.' When the fasting of Ramadan was revealed, whoever wished fasted it and whoever wished left it.
