قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا نَزَلَ مِنْ الصَّفَا مَشَى حَتَّى إِذَا انْصَبَّتْ قَدَمَاهُ فِي بَطْنِ الْوَادِي سَعَى حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ مِنْهُ
English Translation
He (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that i read to 'Abd al-Rahman: Malik — and Ishaq narrated to us, Malik informed us — from Ja'far, from his father, from Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he descended from al-Safa, would walk until he reached the valley floor, and when he started ascending he would walk briskly until he came out of it.
