حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مِينَاءَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ فَضْل

ُ أَرْضٍ أَوْ مَاءٍ فَلْيَزْرَعْهَا أَوْ لِيُزْرِعْهَا أَخَاهُ وَلَا تَبِيعُوهَا فَسَأَلْتُ سَعِيدًا مَا لَا تَبِيعُوهَا الْكِرَاءُ قَالَ نَعَمْ

English Translation

'Affan narrated to us, Salim ibn Hayyan narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Mina' narrated to us, from Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever has extra land or water, let him cultivate it or give it to his Muslim brother to cultivate. Let him not sell it.'
