English Translation
'Ali ibn 'Abdullah narrated to us, Abu Safwan narrated to us — and he named him in another hadith as 'Abdullah ibn Sa'id ibn 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan — Yunus ibn Yazid informed me, from Ibn Shihab, 'Ata' narrated to me that Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled that the rights of pre-emption belong to the partner in every jointly-owned property that has not been divided, whether it is a house or an orchard. It is not lawful for the partner to sell until he offers it to his co-partner.
