حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ زَوَّجَنِي أَبِي فِي إِمَارَةِ عُثْمَانَ فَدَعَا نَفَرًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَاءَ صَفْوَانُ بْنُ أُمَيَّة
َ وَهُوَ شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ انْهَسُوا اللَّحْمَ نَهْسًا فَإِنَّهُ أَهْنَأُ وَأَمْرَأُ أَوْ أَشْهَى وَأَمْرَأُ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ الشَّكُّ مِنِّي أَوْ مِنْهُ

English Translation
Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Karim, from 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith, who said: My father married me off during the caliphate of 'Uthman (رضي الله عنه) and invited a group of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Safwan ibn Umayyah came, and he was one of the eldest of them. He said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Prepare tharid in a large bowl, and summon people to it."'
