نِ سَبْرَةَ الْجُهَنِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا بَلَغَ الْغُلَامُ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ أُمِرَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَإِذَا بَلَغَ عَشْرًا ضُرِبَ عَلَيْهَا

English Translation

Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, 'Abd al-Malik ibn al-Rabi' ibn Sabrah al-Juhani narrated to me, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When a boy reaches seven years of age, he should be commanded to pray. And when he reaches ten, he should be disciplined for it [if he neglects it].'
