English Translation

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, Muhammad ibn 'Abbad ibn Ja'far narrated to me, from 'Abdullah ibn Sufyan, from 'Abdullah ibn al-Sa'ib, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed on the day of the Conquest. He placed his shoes on his left side. He opened the prayer and recited Surah al-Mu'minun [23]. When he reached the mention of Musa and Harun, or the mention of 'Isa — the narrator was uncertain — he was overtaken by a cough and he bowed.
