English Translation

Aswad narrated to us, Sharik narrated to us, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from 'Ata', from Jabir (رضي الله عنه) that a man set his slave free upon his death (through tadbir — a conditional emancipation), and he had debts. So the Prophet ﷺ sold the slave to settle the debt of his master.
