Hadith #250
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيه
ِ أَوْ عَنْ عَمِّهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ إِذَا وَقَعَ الطَّاعُونُ بِأَرْضٍ وَأَنْتُمْ بِهَا فَلَا تَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا وَإِذَا وَقَعَ وَلَسْتُمْ بِهَا فَلَا تَقْدَمُوا عَلَيْهِ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, 'Ikrimah ibn Khalid al-Makhzumi informed us, from his father — or from his uncle — from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said during the expedition of Tabuk: 'When a plague breaks out in a land while you are in it, do not leave fleeing from it. And when you hear of it in a land, do not enter it.'
