Hadith #251
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَوْ عَنْ عَمِّهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ إِذَا وَقَعَ الطَّاعُونُ بِأَرْضٍ وَأَنْتُمْ بِهَا فَلَا تَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا وَإِذَا كَانَ بِأَرْضٍ وَلَسْتُمْ بِهَا فَلَا تَقْرَبُوهَا

English Translation
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Hammad, meaning Ibn Salamah, narrated to us, from 'Ikrimah, meaning Ibn Khalid, from his father — or from his uncle — from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said during the expedition of Tabuk: 'When a plague breaks out in a land while you are in it, do not leave fleeing from it. And when you hear of it in a land, do not enter it.'
