English Translation
'Abbad ibn 'Abbad al-Muhallabi narrated to us, from Hisham ibn Ziyad, from 'Uthman ibn al-Arqam ibn Abi al-Arqam al-Makhzumi, from his father — and he was among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ — that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'The one who keeps ties of kinship is not the one who reciprocates. Rather, the one who truly keeps ties is the one who, when his relatives cut him off, he maintains the tie.'
