حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ يَعْنِي شَيْبَانَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَابِسٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى
اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا ابْنَ عَابِسٍ أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ بِأَفْضَلِ مَا تَعَوَّذَ بِهِ الْمُتَعَوِّذُونَ قُلْتُ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ

English Translation
Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, Abu Mu'awiyah, meaning Shayban, narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, that Ibn 'Abis al-Juhani said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Ibn 'Abis, shall I not guide you — or shall I not inform you — of the best thing with which those who seek protection seek it?' He said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He ﷺ said: 'Qul A'udhu bi-Rabbi al-Falaq [Surah 113] and Qul A'udhu bi-Rabbi al-Nas [Surah 114] — these two surahs.'
