حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُطَّلِبِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ عَنْ أَخِيهِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ قُهَيْدٍ الْغِفَ
ارِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلَ سَائِلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنْ عَدَا عَلَيَّ عَادٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَكِّرْهُ وَأَمَرَهُ بِتَذْكِيرِهِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَإِنْ أَبَى فَقَاتِلْهُ فَإِنْ قَتَلَكَ فَإِنَّكَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنْ قَتَلْتَهُ فَإِنَّهُ فِي النَّارِ

English Translation
Ya'qub narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn al-Muttalib al-Makhzumi narrated to us, from his brother al-Hakam ibn al-Muttalib, from his father, from Quhayd al-Ghifari who said: A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'What if someone attacks my wealth?' He said: 'Remind him of Allah.' He said: 'What if he refuses?' He said: 'Seek help from the Muslims around you.' He said: 'What if there are no Muslims?' He said: 'Seek help from the authorities.' He said: 'What if the authorities are far away?' He said: 'Fight to defend your wealth until you either become a martyr of the Hereafter or protect your wealth.'
