Hadith #384

English Translation
Sufyān narrated to us, from al-Zuhrī, who heard ʿUrwah and Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyab saying: We heard Ḥakīm ibn Ḥizām (رضي الله عنه) say: 'I asked the Prophet ﷺ and he gave me, then I asked him and he gave me, then I asked him and he gave me. Then he said: O Ḥakīm, this wealth is green and sweet. Whoever takes it without greediness of the soul, it will be blessed for him. And whoever takes it with greediness of the soul, it will not be blessed for him, and he will be like one who eats but is never satisfied. The upper hand is better than the lower hand.'
