English Translation
He (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that it was read to Sufyān: I heard Hishām, from his father, from Ḥakīm ibn Ḥizām (رضي الله عنه) who said: 'I freed forty slaves during the pre-Islamic period.' The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'You have accepted Islam with the good deeds you previously did.' — meaning his acts of charity, freeing slaves, and maintaining ties of kinship.
