حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ أَنَّهُ لُدِغَ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ أَنَّكَ
قُلْتَ حِينَ أَمْسَيْتَ أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ لَمْ يَضُرَّكَ قَالَ سُهَيْلٌ فَكَانَ أَبِي إِذَا لُدِغَ أَحَدٌ مِنَّا يَقُولُ قَالَهَا فَإِنْ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ كَأَنَّهُ يَرَى أَنَّهَا لَا تَضُرُّهُ

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, saying: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Suhayl ibn Abī Ṣāliḥ, from his father, from a man of [the tribe of] Aslam that he was stung [by a scorpion or snake] and mentioned it to the Prophet ﷺ. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Had you said when you settled in the evening: I seek refuge in the complete words of Allāh from the evil of what He has created — it would not have harmed you.'
