English Translation
Muḥammad narrated to us: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from ʿAbd Rabb, from Nāfiʿ, from ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar (رضي الله عنهما) that he used to command that all snakes be killed. Then Abū Lubābah (رضي الله عنه) asked permission to enter through a small door of theirs into the mosque. He saw a snake there and pursued it to kill it, but Abū Lubābah said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ forbade killing the house snakes — meaning the small snakes of the houses.
