English Translation

Muḥammad ibn ʿUbayd narrated to us, saying: ʿUbaydullāh narrated to us, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar (رضي الله عنهما) that he opened a door and a snake came out. He ordered that it be killed. Abū Lubābah (رضي الله عنه) said to him: 'Do not do that, for the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ forbade killing the jinnān [house snakes], which are the small snakes of the houses.'
