English Translation

Wakīʿ narrated to us, from Usāmah ibn Zayd, from al-Zuhrī, from Ibn Kaʿb ibn Mālik that a slave girl of Kaʿb's (رضي الله عنه) was herding sheep for him at Salʿ [a mountain in Madinah]. A wolf attacked one of the sheep, and the shepherdess caught up with it and slaughtered it with a sharp stone. the Prophet ﷺ was asked about this and he ordered them to eat it.
