Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا زَمْعَةُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِهِ وَهُوَ مُلَازِمٌ رَجُلًا فِي أُوقِيَّتَيْ
نِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلرَّجُلِ هَكَذَا أَيْ ضَعْ عَنْهُ الشَّطْرَ قَالَ الرَّجُلُ نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلرَّجُلِ أَدِّ إِلَيْهِ مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ حَقِّهِ

English Translation
Wakīʿ narrated to us: Zamʿah narrated to us, from al-Zuhrī, from Ibn Kaʿb ibn Mālik, from his father [Kaʿb ibn Mālik] (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ passed by him while he was holding firmly onto a man for [a debt of] two ūqiyyahs [units of silver]. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Reduce half.' He said: 'I will, O Messenger of Allāh.' He ﷺ said to the debtor: 'Stand up and pay him.'
