حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِامْرَأَةٍ قَدْ سَرَقَتْ فَعَاذَ
تْ بِرَبِيبِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاللَّهِ لَوْ كَانَتْ فَاطِمَةَ لَقَطَعْتُ يَدَهَا فَقَطَعَهَا قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ وَكَانَ رَبِيبُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ وَعُمَرَ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ فَعَاذَتْ بِأَحَدِهِمَا

English Translation
Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Hashimi narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Zinad narrated to us, from Musa ibn 'Uqbah, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه) who said: A woman who had stolen was brought to the Prophet ﷺ. She sought refuge with Usamah ibn Zayd. He ﷺ said: 'Those before you were destroyed because when a noble person among them stole, they would leave him, but when a weak person stole, they would cut his hand. By Allah, if Fatimah the daughter of Muhammad stole, I would cut off her hand.'
