حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَوْفٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي حَيَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي قَطَنُ بْنُ قَبِيصَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ مُخَارِقٍ أَنَّ
هُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ الْعِيَافَةُ وَالطِّيَرَةُ وَالطَّرْقُ مِنْ الْجِبْتِ قَالَ الْعِيَافَةُ مِنْ الزَّجْرِ وَالطَّرْقُ مِنْ الْخَطِّ

English Translation
Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, he said: ʿAwf narrated to me, he said: Ḥayyān narrated to me, he said: Qaṭan ibn Qabīṣah narrated to me, from his father Qabīṣah ibn Mukhāriq, that he heard the Prophet ﷺ say: 'Augury (ʿiyāfah), drawing lines (ṭarq), and taking omens from birds (ṭiyarah) are all from al-jibt (sorcery and evil practices).'
