قَالَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنْ رَائِطَةَ امْرَأَةِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَكَانَتْ امْرَأَةً صَنَاعًا وَكَانَتْ تَبِيعُ وَتَصَدَّقُ فَقَالَتْ لِعَبْدِ
اللَّهِ يَوْمًا لَقَدْ شَغَلْتَنِي أَنْتَ وَوَلَدُكَ فَمَا أَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ أَتَصَدَّقَ مَعَكُمْ فَقَالَ مَا أُحِبُّ إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي ذَلِكَ أَجْرٌ أَنْ تَفْعَلِي فَسَأَلَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَكِ أَجْرُ مَا أَنْفَقْتِ عَلَيْهِمْ

English Translation
Ḥusayn ibn Muḥammad narrated to us: Ibn Abī al-Zinād and Sulaymān ibn Dāwūd narrated to us, they said: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us, from his father, from ʿUrwah, from ʿUbaydullāh ibn ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUtbah, from Rāʾiṭah the wife of ʿAbdullāh — who was a skilled craftswoman who would sell and give charity. She said to ʿAbdullāh one day: 'You and your children have kept me so busy that I cannot give charity alongside you.' He said: 'I would not like you to do it if there is no reward in it.' So they both asked the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said to her: 'You will have the reward of what you spend on them.'
