قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَشْيَاخَنَ
ا مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ قَالُوا أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُمَّ قَوْمَكَ وَإِذَا أَمَمْتَ قَوْمَكَ فَأَخِفَّ بِهِمْ الصَّلَاةَ فَإِنَّهُ يَقُومُ فِيهَا الصَّغِيرُ وَالْكَبِيرُ وَالضَّعِيفُ وَالْمَرِيضُ وَذُو الْحَاجَةِ

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, from al-Nuʿmān ibn Sālim, who said: I heard our elders from Thaqīf say: ʿUthmān ibn Abī al-ʿĀṣ informed us that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said to him: "Lead your people in prayer, and when you lead a people, lighten the prayer for them, for among them are the young, the old, the weak, the sick, and those with needs."
