English Translation
ʿAttāb ibn Ziyād narrated to us, ʿAbdullāh — meaning Ibn al-Mubārak — narrated to us, Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah narrated to us, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Zayd ibn ʿUqbah, from Anas ibn Mālik who said: I was with Ubayy ibn Kaʿb and Abū Ṭalḥah, sitting. We ate meat and bread, then I called for water to perform wuḍūʾ. They said: Why are you performing wuḍūʾ? I said: Because of this food we ate. They said: Are you performing wuḍūʾ from good things? One who was better than you did not perform wuḍūʾ [from such food].
