Hadith #545

English Translation

ʿAbdullāh said: I found in my father's book in his own handwriting: ʿAlī ibn ʿAbdillāh narrated to us — and I strongly believe my father narrated it to us — he said: Yazīd ibn Zurayʿ narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Isḥāq narrated to us, he said: al-Zuhrī narrated to us, from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yazīd al-Laythī, from Abū Shurayḥ al-Khuzāʿī, that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Indeed, among the most transgressive of people against Allāh عز وجل is one who kills other than his killer, or one who seeks blood vengeance from the pre-Islamic era from the people of Islam, or one whose eyes claim to have seen in sleep what they did not see."
