English Translation

My father (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us in Baghdad, Abū Mālik al-Ashjaʿī Saʿd ibn Ṭāriq informed us, from his father, that he heard the Prophet ﷺ say: 'Sufficient for my Companions is (the honor of) being killed (in battle)' — meaning they should not be reviled after their deaths.
