حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ أَشْعَثُ سَ
يِّئُ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَا لَكَ مَالٌ قَالَ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِذَا أَنْعَمَ عَلَى عَبْدٍ نِعْمَةً أَحَبَّ أَنْ تُرَى عَلَيْهِ

English Translation
Bahz ibn Asad narrated to us, he said: Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr informed us, from Abū al-Aḥwaṣ, that his father came to the Prophet ﷺ and he was disheveled and unkempt in appearance. the Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'Do you have wealth?' He said: 'Yes, Allāh has given me every kind.' He said: 'Then let the trace of Allāh's blessing be visible upon you.' And he said: 'Do you give your camels their due right of lending for milking?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Do you not clip the forelocks of some and leave others unclipped?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'That is their right: clip the forelock of some of them (for use) and leave others.'
