قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ مَوْلَى سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْ
أَكْوَعِ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ أَنْتُمْ أَهْلُ بَدْوِنَا وَنَحْنُ أَهْلُ حَضَرِكُمْ

English Translation
Yaḥyā ibn Ghaylān narrated to us, he said: al-Mufaḍḍal ibn Faḍālah narrated to us, he said: Yaḥyā ibn Ayyūb narrated to me, from Bukayr ibn ʿAbdillāh, from Yazīd — the freed slave of Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ — from Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ, who said: I came to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allāh. He said: "You are the people of our desert, and we are the people of your settlement."
