Hadith #209

قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ رَاشِدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي سَلِيطٍ أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ عَلَى بَابِ مَسْجِدِهِ مُحْتَبٍ وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ لَهُ قِطْرٌ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ غَيْرَهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ الْمُسْلِمُ أَخُو الْمُسْلِمِ لَا يَظْلِمُهُ وَلَا يَخْذُلُهُ ثُمَّ أَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى صَدْرِهِ يَقُولُ التَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا التَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا
English Translation
Abū ʿĀmir narrated to us, he said: ʿAbbād — meaning Ibn Rāshid — narrated to us, from al-Ḥasan, from a man of Banū Salīṭ: He passed by the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ while he was sitting at the door of his mosque, sitting with his knees drawn up, wearing only a striped garment with nothing else over it. He was saying: The Muslim is the brother of the Muslim; he does not wrong him and does not forsake him. Then he pointed with his hand toward his chest, saying: Taqwā is here, taqwā is here.
