حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ ابْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ سَيَارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ رَاشِدِ
بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ لَمَّا فُتِحَتْ إِصْطَخْرُ نَادَى مُنَادٍ أَلَا إِنَّ الدَّجَّالَ قَدْ خَرَجَ قَالَ فَلَقِيَهُمْ الصَّعْبُ بْنُ جَثَّامَةَ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَوْلَا مَا تَقُولُونَ لَأَخْبَرْتُكُمْ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا يَخْرُجُ الدَّجَّالُ حَتَّى يَذْهَلَ النَّاسُ عَنْ ذِكْرِهِ وَحَتَّى تَتْرُكَ الْأَئِمَّةُ ذِكْرَهُ عَلَى الْمَنَابِرِ

English Translation
ʿAbdullāh narrated to us, Abū Ḥumayd al-Ḥimṣī Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Mughīrah ibn Sayyār narrated to me, he said: Ḥaywah narrated to us, he said: Baqiyyah narrated to us, from Ṣafwān ibn ʿAmr, from Rāshid ibn Saʿd, he said: When Iṣṭakhr was conquered, a caller announced: The Dajjāl has appeared! Al-Ṣaʿb ibn Jaththāmah met them and said: Were it not for what you say, I would inform you that I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say: The Dajjāl will not appear until people become heedless of mentioning him, and until the leaders (imams) abandon mentioning him on the pulpits.
