Hadith #288
Arabic Text
قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ قَالَ قَالَ لِي عَلِيٌّ سَلْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ
صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الرَّجُلِ يُلَاعِبُ امْرَأَتَهُ فَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ الْمَذْيُ مِنْ غَيْرِ مَاءِ الْحَيَاةِ قَالَ يَغْسِلُ فَرْجَهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ

English Translation
Yazīd narrated to us, he said: Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq informed us, from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah, from his father, from al-Miqdād ibn al-Aswad, who said: ʿAlī said to me, 'Ask the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ about a man who fondles his wife and pre-seminal fluid (madhī) comes out without the water of life (i.e., semen).' He said: 'He washes his private part and performs wuḍūʾ as he would for prayer.'
