حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ بْنُ يُونُسَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ عَنْ أَبِيهَا سُوَيْدِ بْنِ حَنْظَلَةَ قَالَ خَرَجْنَا نُرِيدُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَنَا وَائِلُ بْنُ حُجْرٍ فَأَخَذَهُ عَدُوٌّ لَهُ فَتَحَرَّجَ النَّاسُ أَنْ يَحْلِفُوا وَحَلَفْتُ أَنَّهُ أَخِي فَخَلَّى عَنْهُ فَأَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ
عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ كُنْتَ أَبَرَّهُمْ وَأَصْدَقَهُمْ صَدَقْتَ الْمُسْلِمُ أَخُو الْمُسْلِمِ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ وأَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ عَنْ أَبِيهَا سُوَيْدِ بْنِ حَنْظَلَةَ قَالَ خَرَجْنَا نُرِيدُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَهُ

English Translation
Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us, he said: Isrāʾīl ibn Yūnus ibn Abī Isḥāq informed us, he said: Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā narrated to us, from his grandmother, from her father Suwayd ibn Ḥanẓalah, who said: We set out intending to go to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, and with us was Wāʾil ibn Ḥujr. An enemy of his seized him. The people were reluctant to swear an oath, but I swore that he was my brother, so the man released him. We then came to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and I mentioned that to him. He said: 'You were the most dutiful and most truthful of them. You spoke the truth: the Muslim is the brother of the Muslim.' Al-Walīd ibn al-Qāsim and Aswad ibn ʿĀmir narrated to us, they said: Isrāʾīl narrated to us, from Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā, from his grandmother, from her father Suwayd ibn Ḥanẓalah, who said: We set out intending to go to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ — and he mentioned the same.
