قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بنِ غَزِيَّةَ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْتَسْقَى وَعَلَيْهِ خَمِيصَةٌ لَهُ سَوْدَاءُ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ بِأَسْفَلِهَا فَيَجْعَلَهُ أَعْلَاهَا فَثَقُلَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَلَبَهَا عَلَيْهِ الْأَيْمَنُ عَلَى الْأَيْسَرِ وَالْأَيْسَرُ عَلَى الْأَيْمَنِ
English Translation
Surayj ibn al-Nuʿmān narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Darāwardī narrated to us, from ʿUmārah ibn Ghaziyyah, from ʿAbbād ibn Tamīm, from his uncle ʿAbdullāh ibn Zayd, that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ performed the rain prayer (istisqāʾ) while wearing a black khamisah (bordered garment). He tried to take its bottom and put it on top, but it was too heavy for him. So he turned it over — the right side to the left and the left to the right.
