قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ
اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ قَالَ مَنْ يَكْلَؤُنَا اللَّيْلَةَ لَا نَرْقُدُ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ فَقَالَ بِلَالٌ أَنَا فَاسْتَقْبَلَ مَطْلَعَ الشَّمْسِ فَضُرِبَ عَلَى آذَانِهِمْ فَمَا أَيْقَظَهُمْ إِلَّا حَرُّ الشَّمْسِ فَقَامُوا فَأَدَّوْهَا ثُمَّ تَوَضَّئُوا فَأَذَّنَ بِلَالٌ فَصَلَّوْا الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ صَلَّوْا الْفَجْرَ

English Translation
ʿAbd al-Ṣamad and ʿAffān narrated to us, they said: Ḥammād ibn Salama narrated to us, from ʿAmr ibn Dīnār, from Nāfiʿ ibn Jubayr ibn Muṭʿim, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was on a journey and said: 'Who will keep watch for us tonight so that we do not sleep through the Fajr prayer?' Bilāl said, 'I will.' He faced the rising place of the sun, but sleep overcame them, and nothing woke them except the heat of the sun. They got up and performed the prayer, then made wuḍūʾ, and Bilāl called the adhān. They prayed the two rakʿahs (sunnah), then prayed Fajr.
