English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Kathīr narrated to us, he said: Sulaymān ibn Kathīr narrated to us, from Ḥuṣayn ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Muḥammad ibn Jubayr ibn Muṭʿim, from his father, who said: The moon split during the time of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, becoming two halves — one half on this mountain and one half on that mountain. They said, 'Muḥammad has bewitched us.' Others said, 'If he has bewitched us, he cannot bewitch all the people.'
