قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَبَهْزٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ بَعْضَ إِخْوَتِي يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي فِدَاءِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَقَالَ بَهْزٌ فِي فِدَاءِ أَهْلِ
بَدْرٍ وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَمَا أَسْلَمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ قَالَ فَانْتَهَيْتُ إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ فِيهَا بِالطُّورِ قَالَ فَكَأَنَّمَا صُدِعَ قَلْبِي حَيْثُ سَمِعْتُ الْقُرْآنَ وَقَالَ بَهْزٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ فَكَأَنَّمَا صُدِعَ قَلْبِي حِينَ سَمِعْتُ الْقُرْآنَ

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar and Bahz narrated to us, they said: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Saʿd ibn Ibrāhīm, who said: I heard some of my brothers narrate from my father, from Jubayr ibn Muṭʿim, that he came to the Prophet ﷺ regarding the ransom of the polytheists — and Bahz said: regarding the ransom of the Badr prisoners — and Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar said: and he had not accepted Islam at that time. He said: I reached him while he was praying Maghrib, and he was reciting Sūrat al-Ṭūr in it. It was as though my heart was split open when I heard the Qurʾān. Bahz said in his narration: 'It was as though my heart was split open when I heard the Qurʾān.'
