قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ الْعَطَّارُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ الْمَنْحَرِ هُوَ وَرَجُلٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَحَايَا فَلَمْ يُصِبْهُ وَلَا صَاحِبَهُ شَيْءٌ فَحَلَقَ رَأْسَهُ فِي ثَوْبِهِ فَأَعْطَاهُ وَقَسَمَ مِنْهُ عَلَى رِجَالٍ وَقَلَّمَ أَظْفَارَهُ فَأَعْطَاهُ صَاحِبَهُ فَإِنَّ شَعْرَهُ عِنْدَنَا مَخْضُوبٌ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ
English Translation
Abū Dāwūd al-Ṭayālisī narrated to us, he said: Abān al-ʿAṭṭār narrated to us, from Yaḥyā ibn Abī Kathīr, that Abū Salamah narrated to him, that Muḥammad ibn ʿAbdillāh ibn Zayd informed him, from his father, that he witnessed the Prophet ﷺ at the sacrificial area — he and an Anṣārī man. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ distributed sacrificial animals, but neither of them received anything. He shaved his head into his garment and gave it to him, distributing it among several men. He clipped his nails and gave them to his companion. His hair is with us, dyed with henna and katam.
