عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الَّذِينَ يُشَقِّقُونَ الْكَلَامَ تَشْقِيقَ الشِّعْرِ

English Translation
Muʿāwiyah narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ cursed those who split speech the way poetry is split [i.e., who speak with excessive affectation and rhetorical ornamentation].
