ʿIṣām ibn Khālid and Abū al-Mughīrah narrated to us, they said: Ḥarīz ibn ʿUthmān narrated to us, he said: I heard ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn ʿAbdillāh al-Naṣrī say: I heard Wāthilah ibn al-Asqaʿ saying: the Prophet ﷺ of Allāh ﷺ said: "Among the greatest fabrications is for a man to claim descent from other than his father, or for him to claim his eyes saw in a dream what they did not see, or to attribute to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ what he did not say."
