حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ الْقَطَّانُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِي
حِ الْهُذَلِيِّ عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أُعْطِيتُ مَكَانَ التَّوْرَاةِ السَّبْعَ وَأُعْطِيتُ مَكَانَ الزَّبُورِ الْمَئِينَ وَأُعْطِيتُ مَكَانَ الْإِنْجِيلِ الْمَثَانِيَ وَفُضِّلْتُ بِالْمُفَصَّلِ

English Translation
Sulaymān ibn Dāwūd Abū Dāwūd al-Ṭayālisī narrated to us, he said: ʿImrān al-Qaṭṭān informed us, from Qatādah, from Abū al-Malīḥ al-Hudhalī, from Wāthilah ibn al-Asqaʿ: that the Prophet ﷺ said: "I was given the Seven (long sūrahs) in place of the Torah, I was given the Miʾīn (sūrahs with approximately one hundred verses) in place of the Psalms, I was given the Mathānī (oft-repeated sūrahs) in place of the Gospel, and I was favored with the Mufaṣṣal (detailed sūrahs)."
