حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ال
نَّضْرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْظَمُ الْفِرَى مَنْ يُقَوِّلُنِي مَا لَمْ أَقُلْ وَمَنْ أَرَى عَيْنَيْهِ فِي الْمَنَامِ مَا لَمْ تَرَيَا وَمَنْ ادَّعَى إِلَى غَيْرِ أَبِيهِ

English Translation
ʿAbdullāh ibn Yazīd narrated to us, he said: Saʿīd — meaning Ibn Abī Ayyūb — narrated to us, he said: Muḥammad ibn ʿAjlān narrated to me, he said: I heard al-Naḍr ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAbdillāh saying: I heard Wāthilah ibn al-Asqaʿ saying: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "The greatest fabrications are: one who attributes to me what I did not say, one who claims his eyes saw in a dream what they did not see, and one who claims descent from other than his father."
