English Translation

Yaʿqūb narrated to us, he said: my father narrated to us, from Ibn Isḥāq, he said: Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb narrated to me, from Abū Marzūq — the freedman of Tujīb — from Ḥanash al-Ṣanʿānī who said: We went on an expedition with Ruwayfiʿ ibn Thābit al-Anṣārī to a village in the Maghrib called Jarabbah. He stood among us as a preacher and said: "O people, I do not say to you except what I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say. He stood among us on the day of Ḥunayn and said: 'It is not lawful for a man who believes in Allāh and the Last Day to water another's crop with his own water' — meaning having intercourse with pregnant captive women — 'nor to take a previously married woman from the captives until she has had her menstrual period to verify she is not pregnant, if he purchases her; nor to sell war spoils before they are distributed; nor to ride an animal from the spoils of the Muslims until when he has emaciated it he returns it; nor to wear a garment from the spoils of the Muslims until when he has worn it out he returns it.'"
