English Translation

Aswad ibn ʿĀmir narrated to us, he said: Abū Bakr — meaning Ibn ʿAyyāsh — narrated to us, from ʿĀṣim, from Shahr ibn Ḥawshab, from Abū Umāmah who said: We came to him and he was sitting, immersing himself (in devotion) in the interior of the mosque. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "When a Muslim performs wuḍūʾ, sin departs from his hearing, his sight, his hands, and his feet." Then Abū Ẓabyah came while he was narrating to us and said: "What did he tell you?" We mentioned what he had narrated. He said: "Indeed, I heard ʿAmr ibn ʿAbasah mention it from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ." He added: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "No man sleeps in a state of purity and then stirs during the night, remembering Allāh and asking Allāh عز وجل for any good of this world or the Hereafter, except that Allāh عز وجل grants it to him."
